Rhode Home Rescue specializes in rescuing dogs from unhealthy situations – be it kill shelters, incapable owners, and surrenders – and finding them the furever homes they deserve. At Rhode Home, we fully believe that adopting a rescue not only save them, but saves you too!
Rhode Home Rescue is an all volunteer, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization whose volunteers have many years of rescue experience. Our mission is to identify and rescue all types of dogs from overwhelmed euthanasia shelters and abusive situations and place them in secure, loving homes. We are a foster-based program, consisting of all volunteers, and have decided to branch out on our own in order to fulfill our mission.
Prior to a Rhode Home Rescue dog being adopted, each dog undergoes an examination by a veterinarian, is updated on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. At Rhode Home Rescue we firmly believe that a healthy, well trained dog is the key to the successful integration of a rescued dog and ensures a wonderful, loving companion for years to come.
The average cost to rescue a dog in 2012 was $720. Rhode Home Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization and 100% of donations and fees are used for the rescue and care of these dogs!

Rhode Home Rescue was thorough and timely. They understand what it is like to be on the adoption end of the process, while still keeping the dog's best interest at heart. Every volunteer who worked with us, gave the impression that they wanted to get these dogs adopted out. I would highly recommend this rescue.
We are so excited to welcome Fred into our home. He is such a sweet pup. The process was so fast. I still haven’t heard from other pet adoption agencies that I applied to weeks ago. The staff at Rhode Home Rescue are professional and friendly. So glad we chose to adopt.
I never imagined feeling so supported throughout the adoption process and beyond. RHR is professional, honest and extremely helpful, and proves to only want the best for the dogs that go through their care. I would recommend RHR to anyone seriously interested in rescue/adoption.
This IS the place to go! A wonderful group that is in this for the right reasons- to save dogs ? and help get them in loving homes.
My daughter said,” The staff at this rescue is awesome, amazing, kind, and generous.”
I can’t be more thankful for the gift of our new little Princess Dorothy!
Many thanks,
Princess Dorothy’s new family ???
Rhode Home Rescue is the best! I recently adopted my little guy Sid from there and I could not be more appreciative of them for bringing him into my life. Everyone was so helpful but Hillary in particular deserves a huge shout out for all of her help! I definitely recommend Rhode Home Rescue to anyone looking to adopt a dog.
